A 2025 survey by the Federation of Master Builders found that in the last 5 years, UK homeowners lost £14.3bn to cowboy builders, impacting 37% of British adults.
Homeowners are not all experts in roofing, damp, windows or boilers — so when a large quote lands in your inbox, it is hard to know what is fair, what is missing, and what could cost more later.
Quotes are often filled with technical terms, vague wording, and unclear descriptions that make it hard to know what you are actually agreeing to.
Some quotes leave out key extras like waste removal, scaffolding, materials, VAT, or follow-on work — so the final bill ends up much higher than the headline price.
A quote may show a price, but not clearly explain what is included, what is excluded, or where extra charges could appear later.
Select the right service, for your needs; whether you have a single quote, or multiple.
You will be sent an email with a few questions, and a request to share the quote.
We review your quote to make sure there's no missing information, hidden costs or inflated pricing.
Our report will provide you with reassurance on costs or recommendations to approach conversations to save on costs.
Unlike trade marketplaces, we are here completely for the customer. We do not sell leads, or promote individual businesses; we provide independent, expert reviews to give you reassurance and peace of mind, so you can focus on what really matters.
To prove we're on your side, we offer a money-back guarantee: If our report doesn't flag something useful or help you save money, we'll refund you in full.
